The Water Engineering Research and Development Center (WERDEC) has been established in December 2001 under the auspices of Water Foundation in Istanbul, Turkey. The organs of the Center include the Director, the Scientific Council and the Directive Council.

     The objectives and tasks of the Center are based on the general guidelines below;

     Collection, analysis and dissemination of information related to water engineering.
     Organization of conferences, symposiums, national and international seminars, advanced courses and graduate courses related to the activities of the Center.
     Organization of research programmes in collaboration with scientific, both national and international

     Steering members ;
